How to fix your speaker in 60 seconds
- Remove the case and wipe the phone dry.
- Turn volume up to about 90%.

What to do in the first 10 minutes (wet phone)

The classic. Eject it fast with the water program, speaker-down, and repeat 2–3 times.
🏊 Pool, beach or shower
Chlorine and salt water leave residue too — rinse the outside with a damp cloth (not submerged), then run the water program and air-dry.
💪 Sweat after a workout
Sweat carries salt that clogs the grille. Wipe down, run the water program, then the dust program to clear residue.
🌧️ Caught in the rain
Usually just surface water in the grille — one or two water cycles clears it.
🧥 Pocket lint & dust over time
Gradual muffling on a dry phone is almost always dust. Use the dust program and a soft brush.
When your speaker needs actual repair
Sound cleaning fixes water and dust — the most common causes. But if your speaker is physically damaged, no tone will help. Signs it needs repair rather than cleaning:
- Distortion, crackling or buzzing even at low volume.
- A rattle on bass notes that cleaning doesn't change.
- No sound at all after a hard drop.

How do I fix my speaker?

Does fix my speaker actually work?

Is it safe to fix my speaker with sound?

My speaker still sounds muffled after cleaning — what now?
Leave the phone speaker-down somewhere warm and dry for a few hours, then run the program again. If it is still distorted after a full day, or it was submerged in salt or dirty water, contact a repair shop.

No to the phone — the tones are standard playback frequencies at moderate volume. For hearing: never run a cleaning cycle through headphones or AirPods while they are in your ears, and keep volume comfortable.
