Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy for Ivan Denisov, FOP (sole proprietor), registered at pas. 5th Kyivskyi, Korop, Chernihiv region 16200, Ukraine (VAT: 3442816551), explains which personal data Speaker Cleaner ("we", "us", "our", "the app") collects, how we use it, and what rights you have. It applies when you download, install or use the Speaker Cleaner application and/or visit our website.

Speaker Cleaner is built around a simple principle: your data belongs to you. All sound generation, frequency calibration and cleaning sessions happen entirely on your device using on-device audio engines. We never upload, copy or store any personal content on any external server.

1. Data processing principles

We process personal data in accordance with the following principles:

  • Lawfulness, fairness and transparency — we process data only on valid legal grounds and communicate openly about our practices.
  • Purpose limitation — data is collected for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes and not further processed in ways incompatible with those purposes.
  • Data minimisation — we collect only the minimum data necessary to provide our services.
  • Accuracy — we take reasonable steps to ensure the data we hold is accurate and up to date.
  • Storage limitation — personal data is kept only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
  • Integrity and confidentiality — we implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data.

2. What we do not collect

  • We do not record audio, microphone input or any sound from your environment.
  • We do not access your photos, contacts, location, calendar, health data or any other content on your device.
  • We do not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
  • We do not use third-party trackers, advertising SDKs or analytics frameworks that identify you personally.
  • We do not create user profiles or track your behaviour across other apps or websites.

3. What we collect

3.1 Aggregated analytics

The app uses Apple's built-in App Analytics (App Store Connect) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics — for example, how many users open a particular cleaning mode and general device categories. This data is collected and processed by Apple under its own privacy policy. It cannot be linked to your identity and we have no way to identify individual users from it.

3.2 Subscription status

When you subscribe to Speaker Cleaner Premium, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store, with subscription state managed by RevenueCat as our subscription infrastructure provider. We receive only a subscription receipt that tells us whether your subscription is active, expired or in a trial period. We do not see your name, Apple ID, payment method or billing address.

3.3 Device and usage information

We may collect basic, non-identifying technical information when you use the app, including: device model, operating system version, app version, language preference and general region (country-level, derived from your device locale). This information is used solely to ensure compatibility, fix bugs and improve the app experience. It is not linked to your identity.

3.4 Local cleaning history

Speaker Cleaner stores a local history of your cleaning sessions (timestamps, selected modes and streaks) on your device, using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your iPhone and can be reset at any time from the app's Settings → Data → Reset statistics.

3.5 Support correspondence

If you contact us via email or the in-app support form, we store your email address and message content solely for the purpose of resolving your enquiry. This data is retained for no longer than 12 months after resolution and is never shared with third parties or used for marketing.

4. On-device processing

All core functionality of Speaker Cleaner — sine-wave generation, frequency sweeps, chord test tones and audio engine playback — is performed locally on your iPhone using on-device APIs provided by Apple (AVFoundation, AVAudioEngine, CoreHaptics). No audio data, settings or session information leaves your device at any point during this process.

5. Device permissions

5.1 Notifications

Optional. Required only if you choose to enable the weekly cleaning reminder. The app schedules a single local notification on the day and time you select. We do not send remote push notifications. You can revoke notification access at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Speaker Cleaner.

5.2 Audio output

Speaker Cleaner plays generated sound through your device's standard audio output. This does not require a specific iOS permission, but the app does configure an AVAudioSession in playback category to ensure cleaning tones are reproduced at full quality. The app never accesses the microphone or any audio input.

6. Data sharing and third parties

We do not share your personal data with any third party, except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Apple — processes your subscription payments and collects anonymous analytics as described above, subject to Apple's own Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat — receives anonymous subscription receipts to validate purchases and synchronise entitlement state across your devices, subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
  • Legal obligation — we may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, or valid legal process (e.g. a court order).

7. International data transfers

Since all core data processing occurs on your device, no personal data related to your cleaning sessions is transferred internationally. Aggregated analytics collected by Apple and subscription metadata processed by RevenueCat may be processed in accordance with their respective policies. Support correspondence may be accessed from locations outside your country of residence; when this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

8. Data retention

Since the app processes all data on your device, there is nothing for us to retain on our servers. Support correspondence is retained for up to 12 months after your enquiry is resolved and then permanently deleted.

9. Data security

Because your usage data never leaves your device, it is protected by iOS's built-in encryption and security architecture. For any data we do handle (support emails), we use industry-standard measures including TLS encryption in transit and secure storage.

10. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port any personal data we hold about you. Since we hold virtually no personal data, these rights primarily apply to support correspondence. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.

For EU/EEA residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing.
  • Right to restriction of processing — request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

Our lawful basis for processing support correspondence is legitimate interest (providing customer support). For aggregated analytics collected via Apple, no personal data is processed by us. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been infringed.

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grant you the following rights:

  • Right to know — request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the business purposes and the third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to delete — request deletion of the personal information we have collected from you.
  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale/sharing — we do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
  • Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

11. Cookies and website

Our website does not use cookies or tracking technologies. We do not use any third-party analytics services on the website. If this changes in the future, we will update this section and provide appropriate notice and consent mechanisms.

12. Children's privacy

Speaker Cleaner is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data through support correspondence, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

13. Hearing safety notice

Speaker Cleaner generates audio at high volume to dislodge water, dust and debris from device speakers. Prolonged exposure to loud sound — especially through headphones or earbuds — can damage your hearing. Please:

  • Always remove headphones or AirPods from your ears before running a cleaning cycle through them.
  • Start with a lower system volume and gradually raise it to the level you need.
  • Avoid prolonged or repeated cleaning cycles in a single session.

We are not liable for hearing damage, equipment damage or other harm resulting from misuse of the app.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will also notify you through the app. Your continued use of the app after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
