About ECHO
A free, private, browser-based tool that cleans your phone speaker with sound — and the iOS app behind it.
What ECHO is
ECHO is a speaker-cleaning tool you can use right in your browser — no install, no signup, nothing uploaded. It plays precisely tuned tones that push trapped water out of your speaker and shake loose dust and lint. The same technology powers the ECHO iOS app, which adds saved device presets, stronger repeat cycles and offline use.
How it works
Speakers make sound by moving a membrane back and forth. At low frequencies (around 165 Hz) that membrane travels far enough to create air pressure that pushes water droplets out of the grille — the same idea behind the Apple Watch water-eject feature. At higher frequencies, rapid vibration shakes fine dust loose. ECHO automates this as simple water, dust and ear-speaker programs.
Is it safe?
Yes. ECHO uses the same frequencies your speaker already reproduces during normal music playback, at moderate volume and in short cycles. It will not damage the hardware. For devices with liquid inside the electronics, sound cleaning is a first-line fix — not a substitute for professional repair.
